The ARK, with support from Divert NS, has launched a Wetsuit Recycling Program.
The goal is to remove wetsuits from Nova Scotia landfills, where they can take over 100 years to decompose. Clean, dry wetsuits, booties and gloves will be accepted. Each wetsuit will be repaired or repurposed into new products and remaining scraps will be shredded for use as pillow stuffing, etc.
Wetsuits can be dropped off at the following locations:
- Lunenburg Regional Community Recycling Centre, 908 Mullock Road, Whynotts Settlement
- The Ark, 655 King Street, Bridgewater
- South Shore Surf Shop 714 Blue Rocks Rd. Lunenburg
- Lawrencetown Surf Co., 3733 Lawrencetown Rd, Lawrencetown
