The Community Recycling Centre has partnered with the Fishing Gear Coalition of Atlantic Canada (FGCAC). From April 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024, the Community Recycling Centre will accept fishing rope, netting and PVC-coated mesh and wire lobster traps free of charge for recycling. The FGCAC’s End-of-Life Fishing Gear Management project diverts these types of fishing gear from landfill and is working on developing recycling markets.
These items may be dropped off at 908 Mullock Road in Whynott's Settlement during regular hours of operation until February 29, 2024. For more information, call (902) 543-2991.
